The circular aperture is a wonderful enhancement to a spiral staircase. Because of the nature of the construction the viewing aspect through the stairwell is restricted. This not only offers greater privacy but also produces the illusion of a never ending staircase and the mystery of what lies above or below.

This application is perfect for loft conversion where the loft is accessed through another room or there is insufficient space in the loft to provide a privacy screen or door. They also allow the interior designer to steer away from the conventional rectangular or square stairwell and produce something quite unique and aesthetically pleasing.
